RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa is central figure in the country and much expectation is being attached with him. Realising this fact, foreign ambassadors are continuously meeting with him at GHQ and are discussing the prevailing situation in the region with special reference to Pakistan’s pivotal role.
Mr. Thomas Drew CMG, British High Commissioner called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ. Matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed. The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, Mr Sun Weidong, Ambassador of China to Pakistan called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to bid farewell at the end of his tenure in Pakistan.Matters of mutual interest including regional security issues were discussed during the meeting. The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’s contributions for peace and stability in the region and pledged to keep working for better relations between two friendly countries.
COAS thanked the Ambassador for his contributions and said that Pakistan will continue to strive towards a more interconnected and interdependent region as against a security centric paradigm.
